The laboratory may be defined as a “service production centre”, where the primary process consists of the sequence of activities that lead to the transformation of physical objects (samples, aliquots, reagents), through the use of resources (personnel, tools, reagents, ...) and methodologies (norms, methods, procedures, ..), to the production of the validated Test Reports or to the issuing of verified analytical data, useful for the verification processes of the requesters.
For the realization of these processes it is fundamental to define the supports to manage information, to automate both the repetitive activities and the insertion of the data but also, and above all, for the activities of support to the operators (verification of the availability of a reagent in the warehouse or of a maintained and calibrated tool) and guide (laboratory formulas), verification of the data entered (comparison with limits) and the skills acquired by the operators in charge.
These supports must be flexible and adaptable to the evolutive demands of the organization but at the same time ensure compliance with industry standards and the requirements of accreditation bodies (ACCREDIA).
LIMS systems ( Laboratory Information Management System) are created and evolve to provide testing laboratories with a valid support for the management and protection of data and its transformation into information to be submitted to requesters, in the various modes required and granted by modern technologies (.pdf, file transmission, publication on accessible portals with credentials).
AYAMA, thanks to the modern technological approach and the availability of additional functions and modules, is able to assist laboratory users in carrying out their daily activities and provides a series of alerts and internal messaging for the management of critical situations or which need more attention or verification.
